2025 Empowering independence award winner:
Meet Jaqueline, (Jackee for short), was lonely and depressed after the recent loss of her husband. Seeking activities and companionship, she visited the Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley West Campus facility in Trotwood, OH. and fell in love with our senior-focused Young at Heart program.
Her infectious enthusiasm soon evolved from being a participant to becoming a volunteer facilitator, and most recently, securing a part-time position with Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley as an aide for senior adult day services.
Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley is proud to announce our new Counseling and Wellness Center in Vandalia at 732 National Rd. is now open. This center aims to provide comprehensive behavioral health services, including counseling, diagnostic assessments, and case management for individuals dealing with mental health or substance abuse issues.

Meet Ron, who utilized the Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley Vision Services program to help maintain his independence as he began to lose his sight due to a severe medical condition. The Vision Service provides individuals with low vision or blindness with assessments and life and computer skills training, along with job placement services. Watch how this vital service changed Ron’s life and continues to support his independence.
Easterseals is the nation’s leader in providing adult day services. We offer a safe, caring home-away from-home and person-centered program for seniors who want to maintain their independence at home and in the community.
Our adult day support services are available M-F (8:00 AM to 4:00 PM)
with locations in Beavercreek and Trotwood.

Meet David, who lives with significant vision loss. Though he was born legally blind, David is now totally blind as his vision has deteriorated over time. Thanks to Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley's Vision Services department David life is robust and active with greater accessibility. Read more about David and his journey to independence.
Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley lends assistive-living medical equipment to anyone in need. We offer wheelchairs, commodes, walkers, crutches and more free of charge. We also accept donations of medical equipment (some restrictions apply.)
