Meet Sharon Keely

Philanthropist, Advocate, Dedicated Volunteer.

For the past 24 years Sharon Keeley has been a great asset to Goodwill Easter Seals Miami Valley. Evolving with the times, Sharon served as president of the former Junior Group and even accepted a national award for the group in Washington, D.C. She has managed numerous fundraisers and was in charge of the Goodwill Easter Seals vintage clothing collection for many years. You can now find Sharon reading for the Radio Reading Service on Friday afternoons.

Sharon attributes her long-term dedication to Goodwill Easter Seals to the important work they are doing. “I believe in the mission. I have to keep doing something to support them,” Sharon said.

Last year Sharon joined the Goodwill Easter Seals Empowering Independence League. This giving society recognizes donors who have committed to a gift of $1,000 or more per year for three years. Sharon joined the league last year prior to the Empowering Independence fundraising breakfast.

“Nothing is free. If you want to further the mission you have to give back,” Sharon said.

In addition to investing financially in Goodwill Easter Seals and being a dedicated volunteer, Sharon believes it is important for people to realize how many people Goodwill Easter Seals serves.

“It’s so important for us to spread the word about Goodwill Easter Seals,” Sharon said. “People think it’s just where you take your old clothes, but it’s so much more. The categories of people served are tremendous. No matter the disability, there’s a program for everyone.”
