Radio Readers
Always wanted to be on the radio?
We are looking for volunteers available during the day between 7 am and 5 pm to read the daily newspaper in one hour segments.
The reading will be either “live” on the air immediately, or “recorded” for later broadcast. At this time our equipment does not allow for recording at home.
The Radio Reading Service provides the newspaper and print materials, 365 days a year, 23 hours a day over the radio to those who have lost their sight or the ability to turn the pages. Volunteers are responsible for the same one hour segment each week, example, 7 am on Tuesday or 4 pm on Thursday; or they are responsible to come in and prerecord their reading prior to a certain day of the week. The studio is located at 1511 Kuntz Rd. Dayton 45404. We read live and are able to record Monday through Friday 7 am through 6 pm and Saturday and Sunday 9 am to noon.
